A film by Barbara Albert. "The Dead and the Living" celebrated its premiere in competition at The 60th San Sebastián International Film Festival
"The Dead and the Living" relates the personal journey of young Sita. It is not only an expedition into her family’s burdened past. It is also a journey to the abyss of modern European society, a trip which takes her from Berlin to Romania via Vienna and Warsaw – a film about losing one’s homeland and discovering oneself, a film about hope and responsibility.
